This year to celebrate Women’s History Month I decided I wanted to create a series of paintings of influential Trans women. With the laws being passed around the United States right now, it felt particularly important to honor our Trans elders.

I also wanted to support the LGBT+ individuals currently in Ukraine. 60% of the proceeds of these original pieces will be donated to Insight Ukraine. I really do wish I could donate 100% of the proceeds but I am not at a point where I am able to eat the cost of these prints and shipping them. Maybe someday!

Charlotte-Geneviève-Louise-Augusta-Andréa-Timothéa d'Éon de Beaumont is known as the Chevalière d'Éon and was a French diplomat, spy, and soldier. She said to have dressed often as a woman to aid in her missions, although this is mostly considered to be something d'Éon herself had made up.

She also fought for France in the Seven Years' War and was sent to England to help draft the peace treaty that would formally end the war.

She worked as a temporary ambassador to England and spied for France during this time as well. When the new, permanent ambassador was installed she found herself in the middle of a political struggle and forced to remain in England.

When Louis XV died D’Eon was able to negotiate her return to France, so long as she lived as a woman for the rest of her life, which she did, until she passed away at the age of 81.
